Research Chemicals banned coming soon!
New legislation is coming to banned Research Chemicals in 2011!
Recently research chemicals such as mephedrone, flephedrone, MDAI, Benzo Fury, 5-IAI, MDPV, JWH, NRG-1, BZP and many of the others were banned. Currently each chemical needs to be reviewed by the ACMD (advisory council of misuse of drugs) before any change in the law can commence. This means that it takes a long time to banned new substances and can take anywhere from 3-24 months to classify new chemicals. If this structure stays the online retail of research chemicals such as 6-apb, 5-iai, dimethocaine, nrg-2 and nrg-3 will be around for years to come (sadly this is not the case)
The only thing that will stop this business is the new bill that is going through parliament at the moment ‘The police reform and social responsibility bill’. This bill will remove the need for ministers to need to consult the ACMD (advisory council of misuse of drugs council) for research before banning new chemicals. At present before any new chemical can be banned there needs to be sufficient evidence from the ACMD with their findings considering the damages relating to each substance. This takes a very long time to gather data and is good for online research chemicals businesses as new substances have 6-12 months at least before they are banned.
This new bill will basically allow the government to temporarily ban any substance they choose for 12 months into a class D category, while the ACMD gather there research. During this 12 month period the ACMD will gather statistics to determine whether the substance should be permanently banned.
In other words unless you have some kind of chemicals licence to sell online you will no longer be able to trade because every research chemical will be in a class D. Class D will be treated like a Class C equivalent if you are caught selling a banned substance and will be punishable by prison.
We have only just become aware of this new proposition going through parliament. At a guess it will take 3-12 months to go through and will be effective towards the end of this year 2011. We are following this matter closely and hope it does not come in sooner but this will spell the end of our business online supplying research chemicals.
Has anyone heard about this new law that is coming?
